sharing my creativity, one project at a time

Chocolate Covered Oreos and Kid-Stamped Tags

Being a “creative” mom, I feel like I can’t let my kids show up to school with the same character themed Valentine’s cards that the majority of their classmates will bring (not that there is anything wrong with those).  I also feel the need to have my girls take part in making their cards for their friends and teachers so they understand what goes into as well as (hopefully) learn some creative moves of their own.  This year we used the candy2share stamp set from The Stamps of Life (not sure how to do links yet) on tags.  The original plan was the tie the tags onto goody bags with chocolate covered oreos inside.  In my exhaustion, I made bag toppers (forgetting we were going to tie the tags on) and had to get creative.  I stapled (love that tiny attacher from Tim Holtz) ribbon in the middle of the bag toppers and tied on the tags my girls stamped themselves.  Hopefully there will be some very happy 5 and 8 years olds tomorrow (as well as some deserving teachers).

I'm a mom to 2 girls and 2 dogs. My husband and I have been together for over 17 years (married for 12 of them). I hate saying that I'm a "stay at home" mom, because I'm really not. I spend most of my time at my daughters' elementary school - volunteering, tutoring and (my favorite) scrapbooking with several different classes. I like photography, scrapbooking and general crafty stuff.
