sharing my creativity, one project at a time

I had one last layout to do to complete our 2011 family album and I decided to do it digitally:

While I was working on the photo collage, I thought a wood grain patterned paper would make a great background for these photos from Cracker Barrel (part of a mini road trip during spring break), but then quickly realized I didn’t have any physical paper like that. Thankfully, I do have Echo Park’s mini-theme kit “Homemade”. I love the little shapes of kitchen bits and pieces and was excited at how quickly this came together, especially since I haven’t done a whole lot in PSE for a while and this is only my 3rd or 4th digital layout ever! I’m sure some of you may look at this and think it’s a little simple, but hey, baby steps, right?

As I said, this finishes up our 2011 family album. In getting to this point, I have been “neglecting” our PL album for a few weeks. That is next on my crafty TO DO list … and then to finish up the girls’ school albums from last year as well. My goal is to never get too far into the school year before finishing the previous one so that everything doesn’t run together in my head while I’m working on it 🙂 Come to think of it, it’s kinda my goal for our family albums as well – brain is getting foggier the older I get! Thanks for taking a look and I hope to be back soon!

I'm a mom to 2 girls and 2 dogs. My husband and I have been together for over 17 years (married for 12 of them). I hate saying that I'm a "stay at home" mom, because I'm really not. I spend most of my time at my daughters' elementary school - volunteering, tutoring and (my favorite) scrapbooking with several different classes. I like photography, scrapbooking and general crafty stuff.

What's on your mind?
